Founded in 1976 and sprawled across 129 mu (approximately 21.2 acres), No. 2 High School of Yiyuan County is the county’s sole seat of high school education to have garnered all three provincial laurels—“Standardized School,” “Exemplary Campus,” and “Garden-Style Campus.” In 2024, it was further designated a distinctive high school of Zibo city.

The school currently has over 270 faculty and staff members, including  2 full senior-grade teachers and 105 associate senior-grade teachers. It boasts three relatively independent teaching buildings for different grades, two modern standard canteens, and two dormitory buildings, as well as one office building, one complex building, one laboratory building, and one art building. Facilities such as a library, reading rooms, laboratories, special skill classrooms, and a multi-functional hall are fully equipped. 

The school has established cooperative relationships with more than 20 institutions of higher education and renowned middle schools, including Beijing Foreign Studies University and Shanghai Theatre Academy. It also conducts annual teacher-student exchange programs with Gwangnam Middle School in South Korea.
