Shandong Zibo No. 5 Secondary School was founded in 1942. With well-built brand new buildings and modern facilities, our school is now in a course of high qualified development with the great efforts of a faculty of 290 as well as our 3,600 students of Grade 6 to12 from 72 classes, 24 in the junior department and 48 in the senior department. The year of 2025 marks the 83th anniversary of the foundation of our school, which will open a new page and the beginning of the school history in the new times.

In our opinion, better school curriculum framework means better ways of educating students resulting in better quality of school development. Our school curriculum framework consists of three parts—with Basic Curriculum as the trunk, Experience Curriculum as the root and Individualized Curriculum as the branches and leaves, which means the students will be able to grow up like the hundreds of towering trees in our campus. The Basic Curriculum is the courses required by the national standards, the Experience Curriculum is those developed by our school for all the students and the Individualized Curriculum is offered to individual students who have special interests. 

International exchange also plays an important role in the way of our school development. In the past few years, we hosted dozens of delegations from countries such as Canada, Australia, the United States, England and South Korea. We have started cooperation with the Beauce-Etchemin School Board from Quebec, Canada and Ajou University from South Korea. In addition, we have founded sister school relationship with Shrewsbury Sixth Form College from the UK and Soongduk Girls’ High school from South Korea.
